1950 Chevrolet Sedan

Here is my latest classic car, it’s a 1950 Chevrolet 4-door sedan. It was sold to me as an unrestored original last year but there is evidence of more than a few rust repairs over the years. They are all welded in though and should be alright – I hope.

The original 6 cylinder was real tired and knocking when we pulled it. A new drivetrain has been fitted. It’s a 350 Chevy with a 700R4. Suspension is a Mustang II power Rack & Pinion with power disk brakes all around. Rear is a 3.27:1 positraction unit.

While I am optimistic to get her back on the road this year, maybe it won’t be finished this season, but will be ready for the next – God willin’.

I have a 1950 Pontiac (Poncho) 4 door fastback original body and have decided to do a Resto-mod. Art Morrison chassis, Currie 9" with 3.73 Posi on a 4-link and Shockwave air ride system. Have a Fatman Industries Mustang 2 front end and Flaming River rack. I have an LQ4 that has been rebuilt and married to a 4L80e and the floor has been "upgraded" with a Cadillac CTS floor and bucket seats. Lots of work and still adding to it. My 1950 Pontiac (Poncho) 4 door sedan and 1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe are in the yard for parts and will soon be sent off for someone else to build their car. Love those old cars.

I might be interested in your old drivetrain, IF it's located not too far from North Central Texas. For display, not to propel anything!

My Dad had a 1950 Chevrolet. It was his first car and remember it back in the 50's. Boy that picture brings back memories. It was a dark maroon colour.

Why oh why would you take an original car and ruin it by putting a small block in it?? There are fewer and fewer original cars left. If you want to put in a small block there are plenty of cars out there that are already altered from original. You are destroying cars, not restoring them, and ruining what is left of this hobby.

Great looking car, I hope that you get it finished and enjoy it.

That will make a nice sleeper if you keep it looking stock outside! But by all means it's yours, enjoy it no matter how you do it! Great to see them keep running modified or stock!
