Years ago my first new car was a 1970 Cougar so when I decided to build a classic car I started with something familiar when I located this ’70 Cougar for sale. It was originally a central Florida car that hade been transported to Texas. Three years of owner restoration, maintaining the original look. The car is mostly stock including the original FMX automatic transmission, P/S, P/B, A/C, P/W, and more. Restored items include new floor pans, full interior restoration, heavy duty suspension w/ sway bars, new A/C, and replaced virtually all rubber parts. I still a lot of little things to be done, but that’s what makes a project car.

Very nice car! What are your front turn signal lights mounted to. I just purchased a 69 Shelby recreation that needs the front turn signals.
I had a 69 that I parted out still have some parts like doors, tail lights and head lights that flip up{ whole thing} if you are intertested .
Beautiful car. I have a 1970 XR7 convertible that I’m restoring right now. It’s the same colour as this one.
My wife and I (yes still married) used her new 70 Cougar XR7 on our honeymoon from Houston to New Orleans back across Texas to Santa Fe and home again. Great trip however we blew all 5 tires (yes the spare too) off the car. Since these came from the manufacturer we had to carry them back to Houston so that we could get reimbursed for the cost of 5 new tires purchased along the way, one at a time. Even with all that we had a great time and were still able to bring home plenty of memorabilia that we still have today. The one thing I miss is that Cougar.
