My son purchased this car about 5 years ago. The seats were torn, top torn, back window yellow, paint job faded pink. Sound system removed, an aftermarket alarm system that kept draining the battery and kept it from starting and damage to the driver rear quarter.
I bought the car from my son (since he neither had the finances or the wear-with-all to fix and/or restore it). My friend owns a body shop and owns corvettes, We used his expertise to bring this car back to life.. We obtained the original build sheet from Corvette and we took a year to bring the car back to the way it was on the show room floor. All numbers match. I made this a “Driver” so I could enjoy owning and DRIVING a Corvette.

my 1990 vette needs attention and info to restore
Hi. I just bought an 88 from a friend of mine. The top and headliner need replacement. Needs minor bodywork and certainly a paint job. Engine runs great, trans is rebuilt. Corvette IROC rims. Interior needs carpet and the seats aren’t original. Steering wheel and column needs some love. Glad I got this new toy.
I need help restoring a 69 vette body.
Its allready painted but front clip does not fit?
Any help appreciated
Hello Larry,
Your question leads to lots of other questions for me.
Is this a new front clip that has never been on the car before?
The original front clip should bolt right up, what has changed.
If this is a new front clip that has never been fitted to the car before the new paint on it may need to be sacrificed to get a good fit.
Are you okay with that if necessary?
There are several inner panels that are bonded to the outer panels with everything in position and aligned?
Sorry for all the questions it’s difficult to offer the correct advice without understanding all the details of the fitment issues you’re having.
If you are installing a completely new front clip on your ‘Vette I can honestly tell you it is a long and slow process to get the best fit possible.
Thanks,
Mark

The 1990 Vette did you purchased it in Tucson AZ?
I’m restoring a1995 Impala SS and need a passenger side inner fender and battery holder. Can you help me with some aftermarket suppliers that might have these parts. Thanks
Hi Michael,
Your Impala SS is a popular car, although it’s new enough so there are limited reproduction parts and dealer supplies are dwindling.
I would start by checking Car-Part.com for good used originals.
Hope this helps,
Mark
