Unlike the early 30s GM cars the ’36 Dodge has a mostly steel body. That is except for the softtop area of the roof and interior tack strips. The process for removing and replacing the soft top is the same as that used on a ’32 Chevrolet.

On many Mopars of the era the soft top was simply sealed canvas, although I would suggest using the cobra grain vinyl as a replacement, if you’re not concerned with 100% originality.
