Lemans Retirement Project

I’ll be 69 this & I got started working on cars in 1970. I’ve had a 1963 Corvette, two 1955 Chevy’s, a 1935 Ford 5-window coupe, which I built with a 350Lt1 engine with 13:1 compression, a Liberty 4-speed & 12-bolt with 4.56:1 gears.

I have always been a car guy, but it wasn’t until I retired from the Air Force that I started getting the itch for a classic car. In 2009 I bought a 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 ragtop, I had it three years, it wasn’t until 2014 when I picked up a 1972 Pontiac Luxury Lemans, it has a Chevy 350 L48 engine and TH350 transmission, oh it’s a coupe. Numbers matching, made in Canada (Quebec).

Anyway you always start at the bottom & work your way up, the list is as to what I have done to it but it’s a driver, not a show car. Right now I’m working on the bodywork & body mounts. My initial intention was to safety it & sell, well that thought is gone & the car will stay as long as I have the strength to turn the key. Oh, I forgot to mention, I’ve just replaced the rear quarters & roof. Cheers
