1940 Oldsmobile Coupe

This is my 1940 Oldsmobile Coupe. It is powered by a 350cu.in. Chevrolet equipped with a 4bbl carburetor, connected to a TH350 automatic transmission, and a 10-bolt GM rear axle. The interior finished in silver grey leather buckets. My future plans for the car include upgrading to power steering and disk brakes, but until then it’s still a lot of fun to drive.

Hi Jack I am also working on a 1940 olds business coupe. I cannot find hood springs. My car has a 229 chevy V6 350 auto. I put rack and pinion steering on mine. ( you need to use an OMNI rack) Rear steer.

Looks good, power steering and disk brakes are a good idea. I have a 1940 Olds Coupe, Series 70, in the early stage of build. I't has a 425 olds big block and TH400 tranny; a gen 2 Camaro from clip and a 2010 Camaro rear IRS. Body is nearly done, frame is next with the engine and tranny fit already done. Looking forward to getting this one on the road, so I too can have the fun of driving it.

I have a very similiar car. A 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe coup with 327 ,3 duces, 700R4, pwr rack and pinion, frt disk brakes, and 'hard to believe" a CORVAIR front suspension which I modified with S10 spindels to get the Disc brakes. Not near as good looking as yours ,but getting there.
