Dennis Gage visits Jay Leno and his amazing classic car collection to take a first-hand look at Jay’s highly modified 1989 Ford Festiva “Shogun”. This is no grocery getter little 4-cylinder, but rather a V6 Ford SHO engine engineered into a one-of-six rear engine powerhouse. Although by today’s standards the 220 horsepower engine may seem mild, in 1989 this little rig had more horsepower to weight than anything on the road. With a price tag rivaling the Corvette of the day it’s easy to understand why this potent little car did not survive long, but those who ventured where few traveled were in for the ride of their life.
